Step-by-Step Guide: How to Create a Snapchat Group

Snapchat is an increasingly popular social media app that allows users to send receive disappearing photos videos add filters effects now create group chats. If you’re not sure how to create a group on Snapchat follow this step-by-step guide.

Step 1: Update Your Snapchat App

Before creating Snapchat groups make sure you have the latest version of the app. Updates can include new features bug fixes that are helpful in improving the app’s performance.

Step 2: Open the Chat Tab

To start open Snapchat then tap the Chats tab located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Create a New Chat Group

Tap on the new chat icon located at the top right of the screen. It looks like a pen paper. Then slide the new chat icon from right to left to create a new group.

Step 4: Choose Group Members

You’ll be prompted to choose the group members. You can add up to 31 friends at once. To select your group members tap on each friend’s name or use the search tool to find them. Snapchat will display the selected friends at the top of the screen.

Step 5: Name Your Group

Give your group a name that reflects its purpose or members. The name can be up to 31 characters should be something that everyone in the group can easily remember.

Step 6: Send Your First Group Chat

With your group created you can now send your first group chat. Tap the blue Send button to write send a new message. Every member in the group will receive the message.

Additional Tips

– If you want to add more friends to your group tap the group name at the top to view the group details page. From there tap “Add Members” to add more people.

– You can leave a group chat at any time by going to the group details page selecting “Leave Group.” You can also mute notifications or delete the group entirely.
