Is Shazam! “Fury of the Gods” an enjoyable film?
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a lot more fun and funny than extremely serious and serious. Shazam was as played as Zachary Levi and Asher Angel, alternately played Zachary Levi and Asher Angel continued to portray the character in the way Shazam is supposed to portray as a boy of the age of the form of a superhero who is granted bigger power and power levels than what he could ever manage.
Sandberg is the director of a script that reflects the romantic character of the film and blends it with the novel-altering storyline and fight scenes people were looking forward to while being genuinely funny and fun. With the inclusion of the trio of daughters Hespera, Kalypso, and Anthea which are played by Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu and Rachel Zegler to the storyline this film was an even more engaging film to watch. Liu is the perfect villain as she plays the character of Kalypso who is the most powerful of the three sisters who do anything to get the control their father had lost following the passing of his father.
The inclusion of Zegler who we’ll continue to see on future franchise films it was an air of fresh air to behold, a young actress who had already made her mark as the lead character in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story she was able to display her comical talents and not move too the character’s goal of reversing the wrongs that have been committed.
What impressed me apart from the stunning acting performances given by the entire cast from the Shazamily particularly Jack Dylan, the Grazers, Faithe Herman, and Ian Chen, was the visual effects. It’s amazing how many people have been involved in the making of the amazing elements are shown on the screen, but still ensuring that the film is built on navigating the issues of having a a particular family and the realization that changes are inevitable.
I loved the references that were made throughout the film, not just with regard to popular culture but also to other DC characters too. There are no spoilers, however that scene after the credits had me in awe. It’s always a great time to sit back and observe the reactions of movie fans who didn’t know they would be able to.
The film is certainly worth watching regardless of what other reviews suggest. I highly recommend the film regardless of whether it doesn’t quite like the first one. It’s helpful if you’ve seen the previous one, but it doesn’t require you to be a huge DC fan to enjoy this one. Don’t let that put you off when you’re in search of an enjoyable family-friendly film to enjoy with your family at the theater this weekend.
