DIY Gift Bags: Transforming Wrapping Paper into Stylish Packages

Materials You’ll Need
- Wrapping paper of your choice
- Tape or glue
- Ruler or measuring tape
- Hole punch
- Ribbon or twine
1. Measure cut the wrapping paper to your desired size. A standard gift bag would measure approximately 15 inches wide by 10 inches tall but you can customize the size to fit your gift.
2. Fold the wrapping paper in half with the pattern facing inwards.
3. Cut two strips of paper to act as handles. The length should be approximately 1 inch wide 4 inches long.
4. Use the hole punch to create a hole on either side of the top edge of the bag about 1 inch from each side.
5. Thread the handle through the hole secure it in place with tape or glue. Repeat on the other side.
6. Fold the bottom of the bag up about 2 inches crease it to create a base.
7. Unfold the bottom of the bag press the creases inward to create side flaps.
8. Fold the flaps inwards secure them with tape or glue.
9. Fold the top of the bag down about 1 inch crease it.
10. Punch two holes in the crease about 1 inch from each side.
11. Thread a ribbon or twine through the holes tie it in a bow.
