Step 1: Gather the Materials
The first step in creating a portal to the Nether is to gather the necessary materials. You will need 14 obsidian blocks a flint steel a bucket of water. Obsidian blocks can be found in the Nether but it is much easier to find them in the Overworld. Flint steel can be crafted with one iron ingot one flint. Finally you will need a bucket of water which can be obtained by using a bucket on a water source.
Step 2: Build the Frame
Once you have gathered the necessary materials you can begin building the frame for your portal. The frame should be 4 blocks wide 5 blocks tall. Place the obsidian blocks in the shape of a rectangle with the corners facing inward.
