A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Gantt Chart in Excel

Gantt charts are a great way to visualize project timelines track progress. They are also incredibly easy to create in Microsoft Excel. This guide will walk you through the steps of creating a Gantt chart in Excel.

Step 1: Set Up Your Data

The first step in creating a Gantt chart in Excel is to set up your data. You will need to create a table with the following columns: Task Name Start Date End Date Duration. You can also add additional columns for notes or other information.

Step 4: Add Labels

The next step is to add labels to your chart. To do this right-click on the chart select Add Data Labels. This will add labels to each bar showing the task name duration.

Step 5: Add Gridlines

The last step is to add gridlines to your chart. To do this right-click on the chart select Add Gridlines. This will add vertical lines to the chart showing the start end dates of each task.
